Digital Marketing Specialist
About The Poppy Agency
The Poppy Agency is a Rhode Island-based boutique marketing agency purpose-built for businesses that are ready to grow. We provide fractional CMO leadership, content marketing, and hands-on execution to help our clients get seen, generate leads, and build momentum.
We’re growing, and with that growth comes an exciting new home at 536 Main Street in the heart of East Greenwich.
At Poppy, we believe good marketing should be strategic, practical, and energizing.
About the Role
The Poppy Agency is looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist with 2–4 years of hands-on digital marketing experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
This role will initially support two growing industrial clients, with Poppy serving as an extension of their internal marketing teams. You’ll work closely with senior marketing leadership and other agency partners to execute digital campaigns, manage day-to-day marketing activities, coordinate projects, and help keep client initiatives moving forward.
The role is designed to grow as you do. As you build your experience and establish a strong track record with clients, you’ll have opportunities to take on greater ownership and responsibility, with a path toward account leadership. Along the way, you’ll receive mentorship and exposure to leaders with experience across corporate, agency, and specialized marketing environments.
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week in our East Greenwich office.
Responsibilities
- Build, launch, and manage paid campaigns across SEM, including Google Ads, and paid social platforms such as Meta and LinkedIn, under the direction of senior marketing leadership.
- Monitor campaign performance and handle day-to-day optimization, including adjusting or pausing underperforming campaigns, identifying trends, and escalating issues or opportunities.
- Support programmatic display campaigns, including campaign setup, monitoring, optimization, and reporting.
- Track and analyze campaign performance to help the team understand what’s working, what isn’t, and where adjustments are needed.
- Manage organic social media activity for client accounts, including scheduling and publishing content and supporting engagement based on established content calendars.
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, meeting preparation, and other account logistics to help ensure client work stays organized and on track.
- Partner with internal and external team members to coordinate content, creative assets, campaign requirements, and project deliverables.
- Support client-facing activities and communicate clearly regarding project status, deliverables, and next steps.
- Contribute to broader marketing initiatives and client projects as needed.
- Build your understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, audiences, and goals so you can increasingly contribute ideas and recommendations beyond campaign execution.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on digital marketing experience, including direct experience managing campaigns across SEM, paid social, and/or programmatic advertising.
- Basic design or content creation skills using tools such as Canva or Adobe.
- Working knowledge of platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and programmatic DSPs.
- Experience managing social media accounts for a company, brand, or client, including content planning, scheduling, and posting.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- The ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities while knowing when to ask questions, escalate an issue, or bring in senior team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort supporting client-facing work.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and willingness to jump in where needed within a small, growing agency.
- Curiosity and a desire to continue developing your digital marketing, strategic, and client management skills.
- An interest in B2B, industrial, manufacturing, or technical marketing and the ability and willingness to quickly learn complex industries.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $55,000–$65,000 per year. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
